Jimmy John Trowbridge, 76, of Clyde passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2024, in an Abilene hospice facility. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 23, 2024, at Clyde Church of Christ with David Peterson officiating under the direction of Bailey Howard Funeral Home of Clyde. Burial will follow in Clyde Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Jim was born October 3, 1947, in Sweetwater to James Albert and Mary Kathleen (Turner) Trowbridge. He graduated from Baird High School and attended Abilene Christian College. He married Darlene Grisham in Abilene on February 20, 1971, and they moved to Clyde from Abilene in 1977. He owned and operated Jim's House of Parts / Color for over 25 years. He sold his business in 2014 and retired in 2019. Jim loved to play golf, hunt and reloading and shooting competitions. He also loved watching the Texas Rangers and sharing Jesus with anyone he came in contact with. He was a member of Clyde Church of Christ and the Clyde Jaycee's.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Darlene Trowbridge of Clyde; two sons, Ryan Trowbridge and wife Stephanie of Abilene and Tyler Trowbridge of Scottsdale, Arizona; one daughter, Kaci Trowbridge of Abilene; one stepbrother, Bill Cummings of Kingsland; one stepsister, Sandy Cummings of New Mexico; two grandchildren, Kylie Trowbridge and Lindy Trowbridge and many other relatives and friends.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Bill Trowbridge and stepfather, William Cummings.

The family suggests any flowers sent in Jim's memory be outdoor potted plants to they can replant them at their homes.
