Jody Earl Hayhurst, 63, of Dudley, passed away Wednesday, October 21, 2026, in an Abilene hospice facility. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 26, 2026, at Bailey Howard Funeral Home Chapel with Terry Chrane officiating. A private burial will follow at the Carrigan Family Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Monday from 10:00 a.m. until service time.

Jody was born October 8, 1963, in Abilene to Leaman Earl and Bettye Hayhurst. He graduated from Clyde High School, worked as a mechanic for many years, and was a member of Denton Valley Baptist Church. He married Tracy Sue Carrigan in Brady on April 28, 2006. Jody enjoyed spending time with friends and family, long talks on the porch, and especially loving on his grandkids.

He is survived by his mother, Bettye Hayhurst of Dudley; his children, Nolan Hayhurst and wife Laken of Dudley, Cody Elam and wife Brittney of Clyde, Hannah Harris and husband Justin of Clyde; his two brothers, Tony Hayhurst and wife Shawna, Doug Hayhurst and wife Vicki, all of Dudley; his ten grandchildren, Cashlyn, Callahan, Chesney, Chasen Hayhurst, Case, Jace, Trace Elam, Noah Hernandez, Charlee and Maggie Harris; his nieces and nephews, Zach Hayhurst and wife April, Jessica Hayhurst and Husband Greg, Jacqueline Hayhurst and her husband Justin, Skyler Hayhurst and wife Sophie; along with numerous other relatives and friends.

Jody was preceded in death by his father, Leaman Hayhurst, and the love of his life and wife, Tracy Hayhurst.
