John Berzoza Arguelles, 68, of Baird died Monday, November 26, 2018 in Irving. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Abilene under the direction of Bailey Howard Funeral Home of Clyde. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday prior to the service at the funeral home.

John was born in Anthony, New Mexico on February 3, 1950 to Juan and Fransica (Bersosa) Arguelles. After graduating from high school he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served two tours of duty in Vietnam. He married Andrea Leyva in El Paso on July 11, 1979. They moved to Baird from Midland in 2015. He was a truckdriver for Machen Contracting and was a Catholic.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Andrea Arguelles of Baird; two sons, Johnny Joe Arguelles and wife LeAnn of Midland and Andres Arguelles and wife Jessica of Baird; brother Joe Arguelles and wife Rosie of Berino, New Mexico; three sisters, Alice Samuels of Dona Anna, New Mexico, Mariaellena (Mary) Alleman of Anthony, New Mexico and Emma Arguelles of Denver, Colorado; two grandchildren, Mia Andrea and John Jovi Arguelles.

John was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Pete Arguelles.
