John Edward Hunt, 57, of Clyde died Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at his home. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 13, 2023, at Clyde Cemetery with Chaplain Christopher Shupe officiating under the direction of Bailey Howard Funeral Home of Clyde.

John was born September 2, 1965, in Amarillo, Texas to Mellie Storey Hunt and Joseph Ernest Hunt. He graduated from Clyde High School in 1980 and excelled in basketball and track. He married Maria De Lima, from Brazil, in April 2003 in Clyde. He worked for Rentech Boiler Systems for over ten years. John was born Baptist but became Catholic in his heart, devoting his last year and a half of life to Jesus and the Virgin Mary.

John is survived by his wife Maria of Clyde and his nephew, Michael Hunt of Dallas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Mellie Kathleen Hunt and one brother, Jay Ernest Hunt.
