John Phillip Rogers, Jr., 69, of Abilene passed away Friday, February 13, 2026, in an Abilene care facility. Graveside services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at Clyde Cemetery with Dr. Mike Auten officiating under the direction of Bailey Howard Funeral Home of Clyde. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.

John was born January 22, 1957, in Alamogordo, New Mexico to John Phillip Rogers, Sr. and Geneva Faye (Dunlap) Rogers. He graduated from JJ Pierce High School in Richardson, Texas and went on to earn his Master's Degree from Golden State University. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1978 until 1989, retiring as Staff Sergeant. After his military career, he worked at Dyess Air Force Base and as a prison guard.

He is survived by nieces, Christina Bohannan of Clyde and Tiffani Hatcher of Lufkin, several aunts, uncles and cousins including Nell Rogers of Abilene and JoAnn Lannom of Clyde.

John was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Paula Faye Rogers Stafford.
