Obituary

Johnny Clark Farmer, 96, of Abilene went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 8, 2024, at his home. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 11, 2024, at Bailey Howard Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ruby Moultrie officiating. Burial will follow in Eula Cemetery.

Johnny was born September 1, 1927, to Ross and Ivadell Farmer of Eula. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy at the end of WWII and served his country aboard a supply ship and was then later assigned to duty aboard a mine sweeper. He worked for approximately 47 years for West Texas Utilities, Central and Southwest and AEP in the cities of Abilene and McCamey.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Webb Farmer; son, Corky Farmer; daughter, Tammi Wille and husband Kirk; grandsons, Ray Smerud, Daniel and Kyle Wille; granddaughter, Laura Cobb; eight great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Johnny was preceded in death by his mother and father, Ross and Ivadell Farmer; brothers, Wayne and C.R. Farmer; sister, Lois Smith and a son, David Ross Farmer.
