Joyce Maye Briscoe, 87, of Clyde died Monday, April 13, 2020 at the Sweetwater Healthcare Center. A graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 15, 2020 at the Ross Cemetery in Baird with Dr. Toby Henson officiating under the Bailey Howard Funeral Home of Clyde. Visitation will be from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. Wednesday prior to the service at the funeral home.

Joyce was born in Clyde on February 12, 1933. She was the last of 12 children, her mother passed away during childbirth and she was adopted by Al and Mae Young. She graduated from Abilene High School and earned her LVN license from Abilene Nursing School. She worked as an LVN in many nursing homes in Abilene. She married Boyd Briscoe in Baird on April 1, 1961. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Clyde and one of the founding members of Cherry Heights Baptist Church.

She is survived by her son Al Briscoe and wife Pim of Korat, Thailand; four daughters, Micki Roberts and husband Mike of Clyde, Carla Briscoe of West Virginia, Cathryn Nicole Briscoe of Abilene and Kristen Michelle Moran and husband Jason of Baird; 13 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Boyd, brother Nick Young and nephew Bob Young.
