Juanda Adiene Threlkeld, 94, of Clyde passed away Tuesday, October 29, 2024, in an Abilene nursing center. A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, November 2, 2024, at Bailey Howard Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Toby Henson officiating.
Juanda was born November 20, 1929, in Ranger to Joe Sheridan and Corrine (Rogers) Watkins. She graduated from Abilene High School and attended Western Union Business School. She married Vaden Dean in 1949, and they had three children together. She later married Dean Threlkeld in Abilene in 1967. They moved to Mesa, Arizona, where she owned and operated Nuclean from 1985 until 2005. After her retirement, they moved to Clyde in 2005 where she was a member of the Clyde First Baptist Church. She served as past president of the Clyde Woman's Club and was named Woman of the Year of American Businesswomen of America.
She is survived by one son, James Dean and wife Nancy of Clyde; two daughters, Darla Bowman and husband Rusty of Indianapolis, Indiana and Paula Dean of Brownwood; two brothers, Doug Watkins of Fort Worth and Novle Watkins of Victoria; two sisters, Patricia Keefer of Abilene and Margaret Nardone of Paris; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Juanda was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Corrine Watkins; her husband Dean; two brothers, George Watkins and Ronald Watkins and two sisters, Dealva Riherd and Mozelle Self.
