Juanita Darlene Geer, 74, of Hamby, died on Saturday, December 27, 2025, at an Abilene hospital.

She was born August 14, 1951, in Sterling City, Texas, to Sarah Nell (Wood) Cape and grew up in north central Texas.  She married Roger Geer, on April 20, 1974, in Tucson, Arizona. They retired to Hamby from Washington, DC, in 2002 after multiple moves as a military family.  She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother all the while doing various jobs along the way.

Darlene is survived by her husband, Roger D. Geer (Colonel, USAF, Retired) of Hamby; two daughters, Chariti McPherson of Tannery Star, Virginia, and Amber Kendrick (B.E.) of Clyde; three grandchildren, Amber Dale Johnson (Domenic), Roger McPherson (Chelsi) and Sarah McPherson; and four great-grandchildren, Malekai Johnson, Everest Johnson, Zowey Mitchell and Iris McPherson all of Hamby; along with numerous cousins and nieces.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and three brothers, David Cape, William Cape and Daniel Cape.
