Obituary

Jule Marie Baidas, 93, of Clyde died Sunday, October 11, 2020 in an Abilene nursing home. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 17, 2020 at the Cowboy Heritage Church in Clyde with Brother Clifton Morrison officiating.

Jule, devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, was born March 4, 1927 in Forest City, Pennsylvania to Frank and Julie (Stancavage) Simons. She was a 1940 graduate of Fell High School in Forest City, Pennsylvania. She married John Joseph Baidas in Berkley, Michigan on May 25, 1946. Before moving with her husband to Clyde, they owned Jewel Moving and Storage in Livonia and Romulus, Michigan and was a steeplejack (one who paints church steeples and water towers). After moving to Clyde from Livonia, Michigan, she became a licensed EMT and was in the last graduating class of the Meek School of Nursing at Hendrick with her degree as a Licensed Vocational Nurse. After graduation, she retired from Hendrick Medical Center after 15 years. Jule was a member of the DAV (Disabled American Veterans). She was a member of St. Damian's Catholic Church in Livonia and St. Joachim and Ann Catholic Church in Clyde, where she was very active in both church choir and school.

She is survived by three sons, Gregory John Baidas and wife Michelle of  Michigan, John Keith Baidas of Florida and Mark Joseph (Spooky) Baidas of Clyde; brother Vince Simons of El Cajon, California; six grandchildren, Michael Joseph Baidas, John Harley Baidas, Piotr Russell Baidas, Caitlyn Francis Lagunas, Jule Ann Atkins and John Michael Baidas; seven great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren. and numerous nieces and nephews.

Jule was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 47 years, John Joseph Baidas, brothers, Frank and Bill Simons.

In lieu of flowers, family request donations be made to The American Cancer Society or The Alzheimers Foundation.
