Kendra Alyse Rivera, 36, of Clyde passed away Saturday, August 10, 2024, in an Abilene hospital. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 16, 2024, at Clyde First Baptist Church with Dr. Toby Henson and Chris Hale officiating under the direction of Bailey Howard Funeral Home of Clyde. Visitation will be from 5:30 until 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Kendra was born May 1, 1988, in Abilene to Weldon and Teri (Walden) Wilkerson. She loved playing softball and basketball as a child and always enjoyed family vacations. She graduated from Baird High School in 2006 and was a lifelong resident of Callahan County. She worked at the Abilene State Supported Living Center and then became a mail carrier for the USPS in Baird for twelve years. She attended First Baptist Church Clyde, where she enjoyed watching her girls perform in many church musicals. Some of her greatest joys were cheering on her children at various sporting events and school functions.
Kendra will be missed by her dad, Weldon Wilkerson and wife Stephanie of Clyde; stepfather, C.R. Stevenson, III of Clyde; two daughters, Jaidyn and Paityn Rivera and their dad, Dustin "Buk" Rivera of Baird; one son, Tate Brewer and his dad, Cody Brewer of Clyde. She also leaves behind one sister, Tera Wilkerson of Clyde; one brother, Scott Wilkerson and wife Haley of Clyde; one stepbrother, Caston Hilcher and wife Gina of Denver, Colorado; one stepsister, Carae` Hilcher of Perth, Australia; paternal grandparents, Rodger and Doris Wilkerson of Clyde; maternal grandmother, Vicki Dodson of Safford, Arizona; step-grandmother, Lois Stevenson of Clyde; two nephews, Grant and Graham Wilkerson of Clyde; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many wonderful friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Teri Nichols; grandfather's, Calvin "Fuzzy" Walden and C.R. Stevenson, II.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at Hendrick North and South ICU for their wonderful care.
