Kevin Thurman Kohler, 66, of Tye passed away Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at his home. A memorial service with military honors will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery at Abilene with Joe Placencia officiating.

Kevin was born August 19, 1958, in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Robert Lee Kohler and Marjorie Ann (Thurman) Kohler.  He was raised in Altus, Oklahoma as part of his childhood as a military child. He moved to Abilene, Tx, to be stationed at Dyess Air Force Base, where he spent his active duty and retirement years.  Kevin loved his family, friends, model airplanes, Harley's, and fishing.  He was the type of person that would help anyone in need no matter the time.  Kevin always had a plan and made the most out of every decision no matter positive or negative.  He was the rock of his family, and he held his family with pride. Even though he has passed he will continue to live on by the momentous amount of people he touched.

Kevin is survived by his wife and children; Kimberly Kohler, Nathan Kohler and wife Taylor, and Kevin Kohler Jr.; sister, Kayna Terrell and husband Kevin; brother, Robert Kohler and wife Pam; four grandchildren, Tye, Emelynn, Kaytlin, and Kevin "Jaden"; and a plethora of nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, maternal grandparents, and paternal grandparents.
