Obituary

Larry George Ivy, 73, of Eula went home to be with Jesus Sunday, February 6, 2022. Larry's celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 12, 2022, at Eula First Baptist Church with Rev. Gary Word officiating under the direction of Bailey Howard Funeral Home of Clyde. Burial will follow in the Eula Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Larry was born February 13, 1948, in Knox City to the late George Washington and Frankie Ludene (Mitchell) Ivy. He attended school in Abilene. He married Billie Ann Peck in Abilene on August 24, 1968. They moved to Eula from Abilene in 1977. Larry worked in sales for many years at F&M Electronics in Abilene. He was then self-employed and owned several businesses including B&L New and Used Furniture, Abilene Poultry, and Winford Meat Company.

He was a member of the First Assembly of God in Clyde. He served on the board of directors for Clyde EMS for 13 years and volunteered at the Eula Volunteer Fire Department for 28 years, during which he served as assistant chief for a time. He was a Boy Scout Troop Leader, a member of Timber Tag, and a Vigil Honor member of the Order of the Arrow. Larry never met a stranger, and he loved making people laugh. More than anything, he loved his family, Jesus, southern gospel music and chocolate.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Billie Peck Ivy of Eula; son, Scott Ivy and wife Tammy of Eula; two daughters, Wendy Vigne and husband Ed of McCalla, Alabama and Dana Ivy of Fort Worth; two sisters, Betty Pruitt and husband Ken of Midland and Gay Lawhon and husband Floyd of Deland, Florida; eight grandchildren, Brayden, Brianna, Brittany, Nikolas, Landon, Rylan, Gracelyn and Baillie, along with many other family and friends.

The family would like to give a very special thank you to Dr. Sandra Hazelip.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Eula Vol. Dept., or your local volunteer fire department, Center for Dementia Research, Citizens EMS or Hospice of the Big Country.
