Lorraine Myrtle Berenz, 87, of Baird passed away Wednesday, January 31, 2024, in a Baird nursing home. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Lorraine was born January 16, 1937, in Chicago, Illinois to Robert Meyer and Lorreta (Bichler) Johnson. She attended school in Chicago and married Henry John Berenz on May 28, 1953. She moved to Clyde from Durango, Colorado in 2022 and was a member of the Church of the Latter Day Saint in Durango.

She is survived by her son, Jon Berenz / Darla Marre of Clyde; two daughters, Cherri Melanson of Fenton, Missouri and Sandy Newton of Trinidad, Colorado; sister, Shirley Tenger and husband Peter of Dana Point, California; five grandchildren, Heather Braden, Timothy Braden, Suzanne Flowers, Colten Thompson and wife Alyssa and Charlotte Melanson; three great grandchildren, Joshua Parks, Paisley Thompson and Mason Thompson; one great-great granddaughter, Kira Parks and nephews, Mark Snyder, Kevin Kramer and Garrett Kramer and niece, Alissa Carlson.

Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband, Henry; her parents, Robert Meyer and Lorreta Johnson, her brother, James; sister-in-law, Mary Kramer.
