Obituary

LuCinda Thompson Rose went to her eternal resting place Wednesday, April 29, 2026. A woman of boundless energy, faith and rhythm, LuCinda leaves a legacy of service and community that was brightened by her presence.

First and foremost, she was a devoted mother. Her world revolved around her two boys, Tanner and Pete Rose, whom she loved with fierce pride and unwavering dedication. LuCinda’s life was defined by her active involvement in the things she loved. As a line dance instructor for the Texas Tornadoes, she was devoted to helping others find joy the way she did. Her teammates could always count on her to remember every intricate step and she was proudly front and center during every community performance, leading with a smile and heartfelt dedication.

Her heart for service extended deep into her ministry for children and youth at her church. She built not only an education of Christ but also brought it to life with fun filled instructional time within the ministry. She worked many, many hours writing curriculums for all ages, following God’s plan and will. She truly had a servant’s heart.

LuCinda, better known as Cinda in Kairos Prison Ministry, dedicated countless hours to Kairos Outside, Kairos Inside and as a Co-coordinator for Advanced Kairos Training. As Kairos Outside began in Abilene, she joined a team immediately. Later she became a Weekend Leader. She has served God for many years. She would definitely “Listen, listen, love, love” her Kairos family. Cinda loved helping and supporting others through ministry. Her beautiful smile brightened everyone’s heart!

She will be greatly missed by her family, her dance troupe, her church family, her Kairos brothers and sisters and special friends, Kyan Kirby and Tracy Grogan along with Kate and Jayci that she cared for so many years!

She is survived by two sons, Steven Pete Rose and Tanner Rose, both of Clyde; two brothers, Ryder Thompson and wife Ashley of Abilene and Rodney Thompson and wife Christi of the DFW area.

Lucinda was preceded in death by her parents, Gene and Sandra Thompson and her brother, Robert Thompson.

A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at Fountaingate Fellowship in Clyde with Pastor Dennis Chappell officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in LuCinda’s memory to Fountaingate Fellowship, Kairos, 1910 Castle Dr., Clyde, Texas 79510.
