Mary Anita Boyd, 81, of Clyde died Wednesday, July 13, 2022, in an Abilene hospice facility. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, July 16, 2022, at Clyde Church of Christ with David Peterson officiating under the direction of Bailey Howard Funeral Home of Clyde. Burial will follow in Putnam Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Mary Anita was born October 17, 1940, in Tulia to Andrew and Myrtle (McBride) Rutherford. She graduated from Putnam High School. She married Claude Boyd in Lubbock on January 29, 1960, and they moved to Clyde from Putnam in 1965. They were members of several car clubs over the years and loved traveling and showing cars on the weekends. Mary Anita was a homemaker all her married life and helped in raising her grandchildren, Melissa, Garrett and Cole. She was lovingly known as MawMaw to her grandchildren as well as many others around the community.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Claude Boyd of Clyde; two daughters, Angie Turner and Rita Snider, both of Abilene; three grandchildren, Melissa Boyd of Clyde, Garrett Garcia of Abilene and Michael Cole Garcia of Abilene; great grandchildren, Cash Garcia, Izrael Garcia, Karyssa Garcia, Josiah Garcia and Emma Joe Celestina Olvera.

Mary was preceded in death by three brothers, Kenneth, Lefty and Dale Rutherford and her grandson, Christopher Garrett Garcia, Jr.
