Mary Mosley was born to Adalee and John Adler Brooks in Texola, Oklahoma, on November 24, 1935, and lived there for six years before moving to Perryton, Texas, for five years. The family then moved to Groom, Texas, where Mary was graduated from high school in 1953.

She married Tom Quirk and the couple moved to Dumas where their two children, Lynn and Tronda, were born. The couple later divorced. Mary and Jiggs Mosley were united in marriage on January 13, 1968.

After Mary and Jiggs moved to Eula, Mary began her career at the school in 1977 serving in a myriad of ways: bus driver on regular morning and afterschool routes and chauffeuring athletes to their sporting events, cafeteria worker, cheerleader and pep squad sponsor, and basketball scorekeeper.

After she retired from the Eula ISD cafeteria and custodial staff in the early 2000s, she continued her bus route until November 2020.

Mary was involved in the Eula Booster Club and the Eula Pirate and Lady Pirate athletic programs for nearly 43 years. She volunteered endlessly and tirelessly anywhere she was needed in the community or the school while mentoring and aiding as servant leader to the hundreds of students. On January 24, 2020, a grateful community surprised Mary by dedicating the high school gymnasium in her honor, aptly named the Mary Mosley Gymnasium.

Mary died December 20, 2020, in an Abilene hospice facility. A graveside service will be at 2:00 p.m. on December 28, 2020, at the Eula Cemetery with Bro. Chris Riley from Idalou officiating. Mary was a member of the First Baptist Church of Eula.

Preceding her in death are her son, Lynn Quirk; a brother, David Brooks, husband Jiggs, and her parents. Survivors include her daughter Tronda and husband Jack Foote of Idalou, Texas, son, Bobby Ray Mosley of Chugwater, Wyoming; siblings, Johnny and Mary Brooks from Groom, Bobby Brooks of White Deer; and Carolyn Keaton from Lubbock; six grandchildren; 13 ½ great-grandchildren; and daughters-in-law, Delana Hays from Dumas and Sheila Quirk from Hereford.

Mary positively impacted many lives for decades and was beloved by community and family, so her absence will be profoundly felt.
