Obituary

Maury Delynn Deal, born December 28, 1957, at the age of 67 entered into eternal rest on May 3, 2025, with her husband and daughter at her side.

She was born in Cameron, Texas to Jackie and Mildred Straley. Maury graduated from Van Horn High School in 1976. Shortly after, she married and started a family.  Maury was known for her great artistic talents. She sewed, painted beautiful oil paintings and worked as a florist in a flower shop.  Her greatest accomplishment was being a Mother. She met the love of her life in 1994 and lived in Waxahachie, later moving to Burleson, Texas to be close to her Grandchildren, who were the light of her life.

Maury was preceded in death by her son Garrett Neil McDonald, her Father Jackie Harrell Straley and her nephew Colt Harrell Straley.

She is survived by her Mother Mildred Maxine Straley and her Husband of 30 years, Frankie Joe Deal and her Daughter Shawna Michelle Kornegay, Son in law Robert Daniel Kornegay and two Granddaughters, Emma Grace Kornegay and Jillian Nora Kornegay. She is also survived by her Brother Lowell Straley, wife Lavina Straley and two nephews Kaleb and Kyle Straley and great Aunts and Uncles.

A graveside service will be held at the Oplin Cemetery in Oplin, Texas at 11am on June 3,2025.
