Melissa Denise Atkinson, 36, of Eula, died Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at home. The visitation will be held Monday October 25th,2021 from 5pm to 7pm at Bailey-Howard funeral Home in Clyde, Tx. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday October 26,2021 at 1pm at Bailey-Howard funeral home chapel.

Melissa was born December 5, 1984 in Shawnee, Oklahoma to John David Martin, Jr. and Tammy Dee (Burge) Martin. She graduated from Eula High School and worked in home health care. Melissa met her husband Gary Fornwalt on February 14, 2007.

Melissa loved life. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She had a heart of gold. She was not a materialistic person. She loved to swim, sing, dance, cook, go black Friday shopping with Kayla, and most of all she loved watching her peypey play softball.

She is survived by her husband, Gary Fornwalt Eula; two stepsons, Michael James and wife Candace and Dakota Fornwalt, all of Abilene; sister, Tonya Morgan of Abilene; uncle, Roy Lamoree of Eula; sister-in-law, Nikki Fornwalt; brother-in-law, Jamie Fornwalt and several nieces and nephews.

Melissa was preceded in death by her parents; her grandmother, Genevieve Lamoree; her niece, Brandy Chappa and her mother-in-law, Linda Fornwalt.
