Michael Steven Blougouras, 71, died Friday, May 15, 2026, at his home in Clyde. A celebration of life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 29, 2026, at Bailey Howard Funeral Home Chapel of Clyde with Ron Johnston officiating with a visitation following.

Michael was born April 28, 1955, in Anchorage, Alaska, to Steven Boris and Colleen Hume (Martin) Blougouras. He grew up and graduated from high school in Mt. Shasta, California. He served in the U.S. Navy. Michael married Theresa Welsh on August 14, 1976, in Long Beach, California. Michael worked as a power plant mechanic for the City of Independence, Missouri, for ten years before working 25 years for Southern California Edison. He was a member of Calvary Christion Union Church in Elcelsior Springs, Missouri.

Michael was a very outgoing man and never met a stranger. He was well loved by many and will be deeply missed.

He is survived by his mother, Colleen Hume (Martin) Blougouras; his wife, Theresa Blougouras of Clyde; his son, Steven Wade Blougouras of Hamby; his grandchild, Ayden Blougouras of Missouri; two brothers, Daniel Blougouras of Florida and Anthony Blougouras of California; sister, Linda Blougouras of Colorado; many cousins and friends from Calvary Christian Union Church and Salem Church in Missouri.

Michael was preceded in death by his father, Steven Blougouras.

The family suggests donations in Mike’s memory to M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.
