Myrla Ophelia Howell, 85, died Thursday, June 24, 2021 in a Granbury nursing home. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 7, 2021 at Bailey Howard Funeral Home Chapel of Clyde with Jeff Bell officiating.

Myrla was born August 25, 1935 in Colorado City to Thomas Jefferson (T.J.) and Bitsy (Gibson) Humphreys. She grew up in Colorado City and graduated from Colorado High. She married Richard Charles Howell in Colorado City on January 22, 1954.

She is survived by her two sons, Charles Douglas Howell and wife Debra of Show Low, Arizona and Timothy Howell and wife Susan of Galveston; sisters, Patty Tate and husband Mike of Dallas and Peggy Van Geem and husband Henry of Wichita Falls and brother, Tommy Humphreys.

Myrla was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Richard and her sister Charlotte Key.
