Nancy Elaine Bennett, 66, of Abilene passed away Saturday, May 11, 2024. A memorial/visitation will be held from 5:30 until 7:30 p.m. Saturday, June 1, 2024, at Bailey Howard Funeral Home of Clyde.

Nancy was born December 30, 1957, in Baird to Billie Joe and Bonnie (Cowan) Sheppard. She graduated from Eula High School in 1976. She married Mark Olan Bennett in Abilene on January 28, 1977. Nancy worked as a cook for Fort Phantom Lake Store for many years and as a caregiver for Girling Home Health. She loved fishing and water skiing and bowled in several bowing leagues in Abilene.

She is survived by one brother, Bobby Sheppard and wife Becky of Fort Phantom; two sisters, Mary Sheppard of Abilene and Barbara Hagler and husband Gary of Fort Phantom; brothers-in-law, Wes Bennett and wife Terrie of Abilene and Mike Bennett and wife Jeannie of Lubbock; sister-in-law, Roxanne Hello of Abilene and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends and her fur babies, Jixer, Minnie and Pearl.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Billie and Bonnie; her husband, Mark; her two sons, Travis and Aaron Bennett and brother-in-law, John Hello.
