Otto Rudolph Jander, 81, of Clyde, died Friday, December 22, 2017, at a local hospital. Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday, December 28th at the Bailey-Howard Funeral Home Chapel. Burial with military honors and masonic rites will follow at the Texas State Veteran's Cemetery in Abilene. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the Bailey-Howard Funeral Home Chapel.
Otto was born December 20, 1936, in Throckmorton, to Fred and Ida Mae Messenger Jander. After graduating from Amarillo High School, he joined the US Air Force where he served 24-1/2 years. He married Uletha Huddleston on December 20, 1958, in Clyde. During his time in the Air Force, he served in Vietnam as an aircraft maintenance supervisor. After retiring from the Air Force at Dyess AFB, he owned and operated Jander's Automotive for more than 30 years. He was a member of the Clyde Masonic Lodge 1056 and Cherry Heights Baptist Church.
Otto is survived by his wife, Uletha; one son, Donny Jander and wife Angela; one daughter, Carla Kelley, all of Clyde; two grandsons, Dustin Kelley and Rylan Jander; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, John Charles Jander; and one sister Martha Lumpkin.
