Pamela Jan Cotten, 62, of Abilene died Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at Hendrick Medical Center due to a brainstem stroke. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 17, 2021 at the Bailey Howard Funeral Home Chapel of Clyde.
Pam was born November 3, 1958 in Long Beach, California to Jack and Eva Cotten. She attended Clyde High School. Pam worked in retail sales in Abilene, for Lowes, McCoy's and at the time of her death, Northern Tool. She loved her job, her customers and she never missed her NASCAR Races. She was an avid animal rights advocate and a Dallas Cowboy fan. Pam was a talented cook and enjoyed cooking for her love – a feisty little chihuahua named "Little Bit'.
She is survived by her mother and stepfather, Joe and Eva Pechacek of Clyde; father and stepmother, Jack and Dorothy Cotten of League City; brother and sister-in-law, Eric and Martha Pechacek of Hamby; sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and Jim Howell of Boyd; nephew and wife, Warren and Labresa Howell of Chico; niece and husband, Caitlin and Jeff Bybee of Santo and niece, Codi Clark of Hamby. She is also survived by five great nieces and two great nephews and numerous cousins and friends.
Pam was so proud to support organ donation and her organs are being used to benefit others. The first Organ Donation Flag was raised October 5, 2021 at the entrance to Hendrick Medical Center in honor of Pam, to initiate a new recognition program for organ transplants.
