Peggye (Church) Swafford, age 89, of Baird, Texas, passed away on February 4, 2021 at Christa Santa Rosa Hospital in San Antonio, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 12, 2021 at the Bailey Howard Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Rick Denson officiating. Burial will follow in the Clyde Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until service time on Friday at the funeral home.

She was born May 12, 1931 to G.A and Opal Church in Waxahachie, Texas. She graduated from Clyde high school in 1948. She was married to the late W.L. (Hoot) Swafford on December 29 ^th , 1948. Peggy was a licensed real estate agent and pursued that career for a number of years. Her latest employment was as a secretary at Gary Peak's Law office in Eastland, Texas. Peggye and Hoot owned and operated a business in Ranger, Texas for 17 years. They resided at Lake Leon prior to moving to Eastland in 1992. Peggye moved to Baird, Texas after the passing of her husband and mother.

Peggye was preceded in death by her parents, Opal and G.A. Church, her husband, W.L. (Hoot) Swafford, brother and sister-in-law, Richard Church and Helen Ruth Church, daughter, Gina (Swafford) Simon, sisters-in-law, Nita Rawson and Flora Swafford Gibbs and niece, Leonna Adkins.

She is survived by two grandsons, Cody Simon and wife Carmen Simon and Evan Simon; granddaughter, Eden Phillips; four great grandchildren, Alexander, Gabriel, Jacob, Noelani; son-in-law, Greg Simon and wife Connie; sister-in-law, Katy Dunn; nieces and nephews, Gary Church and wife Paula, Michael Church, Scott Church and wife Cora, Terri (TK) Jenkins, Benny Gibbs and wife Jackie, Claudia Hernandez, Stacy Swafford, Judy Shockey, Jeff Burleson and several other nieces and nephews.
