John Phillip (Phil) Willson, 70, of Clyde died Tuesday, January 3, 2023, in an Abilene hospital. No services are scheduled at this time. Arrangements by Bailey Howard Funeral Home of Clyde.

Phil was born March 16, 1952, in Brownwood to Harry Glynn and Dorothy (Tuttle) Willson. He graduated from Brownwood High School in 1970 and attended Texas A&M University. He worked as a freight broker for Swan Transportation until his retirement. He married Pam L. Mercer in Brownwood on August 25, 1990, and they moved to Clyde in October of 1993. He was a member of the Church of Christ.

He is survived by his wife Pam L. Willson of Clyde; son, Jeremiah Willson of Brownwood; stepson, Andy Orrell and wife Penny of Canadian; two brothers, Roger Willson and Paul Willson, both of Brownwood and two grandchildren, Morgan and Tyson Orrell.

Phil was preceded in death by his parents and stepson, Danny Orrell.
