Obituary

Ray Edmond Brown, 89, of Eula passed away Monday, December 15, 2025, at his home. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 10, 2026, at Eula Methodist Church.

Ray was born October 26, 1936, in Pampa to Charles Raymond and Oma Ethel (White) Brown. He was affectionately known as "Hunk" to his family growing up. He graduated from Hermleigh High School and earned his electronics degree from DeVry Institute. He served for three years in the US Army. He married Donna Kay Frease in Fort Collins on April 16, 1961, and they moved to Eula from Abilene in 1972. He was a member of the Eula Methodist Church, where he was an avid volunteer for the food pantry until the time of his death.

Ray had a passion for farming but also had many other talents. He co-owned a television repair shop in Hamlin for a few years, he worked as an appliance repairman for Sears, a machining foreman for NuCorp, for Texas Instruments and set up the computer system for the 2000 census. He was a whiz with computers and also had his private pilot's license.

He is survived by his son, Curtis Brown and wife DeeAnn of College Station; his daughter, Kim Wilson and husband Scott of Woodward, Oklahoma; eight grandchildren, Christian Brown and wife Meagan, Chelsea Shirley and husband Joe, Dakota Brown and wife Leah, Cheyenne Eastwood and husband Seth, Stephen Wilson and wife Lili, Shaun Wilson and wife Kelsey, Alex Wilson and wife Chelsee and Kaycee Wilson; nine great grandchildren, Addison, Cooper, Korbin, Jake, Parker, Eliza, Elliott, Avery and Caden; his lifelong Army buddy, Ed Carpenter and many special friends including, Jerry Bentley, Steven McCarty, Ricky McCarty, Billie Ivy and Brian Galle, just to name a few.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Oma; his wife, Donna and his brother, Gary Brown.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Ray's granddaughter, Kaycee, for wonderful care she gave to him.
