Richard Allen Fears, 71, of Clyde died Tuesday, October 1, 2019 in an Abilene hospital. Graveside services with military honors will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 4, 2019 at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery at Abilene under the direction of Bailey Howard Funeral Home of Clyde.

Richard was born May 29, 1948 in Fort Worth, Texas to Millard Hickman and Gertrude Mary (Sinflubin) Fears. He graduated high school in San Francisco, California and married Dianne Reinert in Abilene on September 5, 1971. He served in the U.S. Air Force for over 22 years, retiring in 1989. They moved to Clyde from Abilene in 1999.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Dianne Fears of Clyde; two sons, Christopher Fears of Clyde and Aaron Fears of Abilene; two daughters, Raqueal Fears Elliot of Maryland and Bonnie Fears Willis of Alaska; sister Glenda Sue Striping of Fort Worth; 17 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents.
