Richard Joseph Fowler, 60, of Clyde, formerly of Abilene, passed away Saturday, June 15, 2024, in an Abilene hospital. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Richard was born November 8, 1963, in Salina, Kansas to Richard Cass and Josephine A. (LaBonte) Fowler. He graduated from Cooper High School and later married Rhonda Newton in Abilene on April 1, 1994. Richard worked for the City of Abilene for over ten years. He had also worked for the Abilene Civic Center, helping with the Broadway Shows and he ran the spotlight and soundboard for the rodeos. His many activities include helping his children with stock shows, taking them to the hot air balloon festivals, participating with Young Eagles and he was an avid collector of first responder memorabilia.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Rhonda Fowler of Clyde; two sons, Trey Newton and wife Kasie of Arlington and Blaise Fowler and wife Josie Razo of Mansfield; daughter, Zoey Fowler and Bryan Jones of Albany; brother, William (Bill) Fowler of Merkel; three grandchildren, Cameron and Miles Newton and Madison Lancaster; niece, Sarah Jones of Abilene and his beloved dog, Skittles and many other relatives and friends.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents and his sister-in-law, Renee Fowler.
