Rick Lee Macke, 66 years old, entered the gates of Heaven on Thursday evening, June 22, 2023, accompanied by loved ones. Rick was born on May 21, 1957, to Don and Sharon Macke in North Platte, Nebraska.  God led him to marry the love of his life, Susan, who preceded him in death in 2016. Together they enjoyed traveling and doting on their grandkids.

Rick is survived by his mother and father of Abilene; daughter, Crystal; son, Michael Cooley and wife Allison of Clyde and children; Jordon, Sarah, Cayman, Ansynn, Kailen, Logann and Zylen; Crystal Whisenhunt and spouse Jerry of Clyde and children: Cheyenne, Brianna and Dakota; the late D.J. Whitt; sisters, Kathy Washington and Dobee McKay; brother, Hal Macke and wife Debra, as well as many other relatives and friends.

Rick had a spunky spirit and brought volume wherever he went. His smile and laugh were contagious, and he always had an ornery comment or comeback when necessary.  His free time was spent watching the grandkids' sporting events or cheering on his favorite teams: Dallas Cowboys, Texas Longhorns and Texas Rangers.

Visitation and celebration of life will be held at Bailey Howard Funeral Home in Clyde on Thursday, June 29, 2023, from 6-7:30 p.m. with graveside visitation directly after.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Clyde Little League.
