Robert Cecil Graven, 62, of Hamby, passed away Saturday, September 6, 2025, at an Abilene hospital. Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at First Baptist Church in Clyde with Pastor Vic Meyer officiating. Burial will follow in the Hamby Cemetery under the direction of Bailey-Howard Funeral Home in Clyde. Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Robert was born September 19, 1962, at Toul-Rosieres Air Force Base in France to Harlan and Helen (Taylor) Graven. He attended Eula High School. Robert moved from Kentucky to Abilene in 1968. He married Amy Woolf in Abilene on May 16, 2009. Robert and Amy owned Lucy's Big Burgers on S. 27th Street in Abilene. Robert had been a pastor at Belmont Baptist Church in Abilene for twelve years. Robert touched many people over the years, ministering through his work, staff and customers included.
Robert is survived by his wife, Amy Graven of Abilene; his mother, Helen Graven of Abilene; two sons, Robert Mathew Graven and wife Jodi of Clyde and Will Windham and wife Tosha of Clyde; two daughters, Britni Brown of Hamby and Nancie Windham of Abilene; one brother, Richard Graven of Washington; one sister, Judy Graven of Abilene; and nine grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Harlan Graven.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the Hamby Volunteer Fire Department, 4408 Hwy. 351, Abilene, Texas 79601 or the Hamby Cemetery Association, 944 CR 155, Abilene, Texas 79601.
