Robert Leo Prew, 86 of Clyde, died Easter Sunday, April 17, 2022, in an Abilene hospice facility. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 22, 2022, at St. Joachim and Ann Catholic Church of Clyde with Father Albert Ezeanya officiating under the direction of Bailey Howard Funeral Home of Clyde, Burial will follow in the Clyde Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home, with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m.

Robert was born June 20, 1935, in Abilene to Raymond and Thelma (Donnelly) Prew. He graduated from St Joseph Catholic School in Abilene and served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of St. Joachim and Ann Catholic Church. He married Melba Lee Ligon in Mexico on November 30, 1966, and they moved to Clyde from Fort Worth in 1979. Robert was a supervisor for Bulldog Steel for many years and owner of Tank Erectors. Robert was an avid fisherman and gardener.

He is survived by two sons, Eddie Burkhalter of Baird; Robert A. Prew and wife Selena of Abilene; daughter, Sandra Jensen of Abilene; two brothers, Donald Prew of Buffalo Gap and Gene Prew and wife Sue of Abilene; sister, Loretta Miller and husband Donald of Clyde; sister-in-law, Melinda Prew of Eula; seven grandchildren, Dr. Brittny Burkhalter Tillman and husband Dr. Ryan Tillman, Jake Prew, Kalyn Burkhalter, Jayce Jensen, Rhylan Prew, Makaya Rich and Latney Rich; two great grandchildren, Knox and Bennett Tillman and many nieces and nephews.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Melba in 2009; two brothers, Pat and James Prew; two sisters-in-law, Colleen and Brenda Prew.
