Robert Eugene Taylor, 64, of Abilene died Tuesday, February 14, 2023, at his home. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 21, 2023, at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery at Abilene with Chaplain David Chandler officiating under the direction of Bailey Howard Funeral Home of Clyde. Robert will be in state at the funeral home on Monday, February 20 ^th from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.

Robert was born October 13, 1958, in the Panama Canal Zone to Danny Gene and Catherine Marie (Ott) Taylor. He graduated from Clyde High School in 1977. After graduation, he served in the U.S. Army from 1979 until 1982. He worked as a mechanic by trade for most of his life and was a member of the American Legion.

He is survived by his companion of over 25 years, Patti Woodard of Abilene; brother, Chris Taylor and wife Sheila of Abilene; sister, Mary Bucherie of Abilene; niece, Bethany Warman and husband Brian of West Virginia and nephew, Danny Bucherie and wife Clara of Abilene.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents.
