Roma Jean Boland, 86, of Clyde died Monday, July 23, 2018 in a Comanche care center. A memorial graveside will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 27, 2018 at the Scranton Cemetery with Brother Larry Hooper officiating under the direction of Bailey Howard Funeral Home of Clyde.

Roma was born June 26, 1932 in Scranton to Orville and Altha Reese. She graduated from Scranton High School and later married Dale Boland in Scranton in 1952. She was a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell and AT&T for many years. Roma was a member of the Bible Baptist Church, where she was the pianist.

She is survived by her son Dennis Boland of Clyde; son-in-law Don Pence and wife Sherry of Lindale; sister Melba Harvey of Trinity; three grandchildren, Lucretia Boland of Austin, Brad Pence and wife Melissa of Baldwin, Missouri and Jason Pence and wife Angela of Comanche; eight great grandchildren, Moira Boland, Reid, Drew, Emma, Dillon, Grayson, Kollin and Odie Pence; nieces, Susan Abel of Clear Lake and Karen Amos of Trinity and the father of her children Dale Boland of Sheffield.

Roma was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter Dianne Pence.
