Ronal Truett (Ron) Piland, 71, of Clyde died Monday, March 19, 2018 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 23, 2018 at the First Baptist Church of Clyde with Dr. Toby Henson officiating. Burial will follow in the Clyde Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at Bailey Howard Funeral Home of Clyde.

Ron was born February 4, 1947 in Haskell to Truett and Loucile (Patterson) Piland. He graduated from Clyde High School and received his degree from McMurry. He married Linda Womble in Abilene on May 31, 1968. They moved to Clyde from Abilene in 1996. Ron was a claims adjuster for Merchants for many years. After retiring, he drove for Blake Fulenwider Dodge. He was a member of Gideons and a deacon at First Baptist Church in Clyde.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years Linda of Clyde; three sons, Scott Piland and wife Melissa of Temple, Barry Piland and wife Shaylee of Tuscola and Michael Piland and wife Brittany of Ft. Worth; seven grandchildren, Braxten Piland, Walker Piland, Alex Burling, Evan Burling, Allison Piland, Avery Piland and Annalee Piland.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents.
