Ronnie Lee Steele, 69, of Eula passed away Monday, April 4, 2022, at home surrounded by family. He was born to Clyde and Betty (Sutton) Steele on October 14, 1952, in Comanche.

Ronnie was raised in Comanche County. He helped his dad raise peanuts early on, worked as a pellet mill operator for 18 years and drove his own truck across the country for 13 years and other various jobs. He married Lou Anne Holland in Gustine on February 2, 1976. He was a godly man and loved his church family. He was a member of Rowden Baptist Church for over 17 years.

Ronnie loved his family and his dogs, Sugar and Cocoa. He was a very good dad and pawpaw. He was a big influence on his children and taught, especially Jeremy and Coltin, so many useful skills. He never met a stranger and loved anything outdoors. He loved golfing, gardening and a pretty lawn. He was also an avid fisherman and hunter.

He is survived by his wife, Lou Anne; children, Melissa Steele of Eula and Jeremy Steele of Clyde; grandchildren, Coltin Steele and wife Heather, Autumn Steele and Paxton Steele; great granddaughter, Raelynn Steele; sister, Loretta Godfrey and husband Norman; brother, Tracy Steele and wife Patty; sister-in-law, Irene Barfield; brothers-in-law, Willie Holland and wife Shirley and Eddie Holland and wife Ann and numerous extended family members and friends.

Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Richard Steele; sisters, Nancy Gray and Linda Cooper; brother-in-law, Doc Gray and nephews, Ricky Steele, Shawn Godfrey and Dean Holland.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 9, 2022, at the Rowden Baptist Church, 2990 Hwy. 36 East, Baird with Pastor Wayne Lenz officiating. Visitation will be from 11:30 until 1:30 at the church prior to the service.
