Ruben S. Ramos, 62, of Clyde, died Friday at a local hospital.  Funeral services will be Tuesday, March 20, 2018, at 1:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Clyde with Dr. Toby Henson officiating.  Visitation will be from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Monday at Bailey-Howard Funeral Home.

Ruben was born on September 7, 1955, in Baird, to Santos C. and Eluteria (Suniga) Ramos, and was a 1974 graduate of Clyde High School.  He married Mary Linda Byrd on June 25, 1988, in Baird, and was a lifelong resident of the Clyde and Baird area.  He owned Ruben Ramos Masonry working with his brothers until his health required him to retire.  He was a member of the St. Ann & Joaquim Catholic Church in Clyde.

Beginning at a very young age, Ruben enjoyed playing all sports through his high school years and was an avid lifelong sports fan.  He coached little league for several years and attended many sporting events in Clyde even after his health failed him.

Ruben is survived by his wife, Linda, of Clyde; two sons, R. J. Ramos and James Freiman, both of Clyde; three daughters, Genesse Driver and husband Tom of Clyde, Rhonda Barron and husband Jason of Cross Plains and Tamarin Cooley and husband Michael of Clyde; his family adopted son, Carlos Gomez of Clyde; four brothers, Sammy and wife Dianne Ramos of Clyde, Ray and wife Elida Ramos of Baird, Danny and wife Stephany Ramos of Clyde and Tommy Ramos of Clyde; one sister, Angie Ramos of Abilene; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Ruben was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Paul Ramos; and one sister, Janie Carrion.
