It is with great sadness to share that our beloved brother, father and grandfather, Russell Frank Doty, lost his battle with cancer on May 20, 2025. Russell was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother and a great friend who believed in living life to its fullest.

Russell was born in Bryan, Texas to Dorothy E Doty and William H Doty on May 14, 1957. The family moved to Overland Park, Kansas in the mid-1960s. He attended Shawnee Mission Northwest High School. As a Teenager Russell was active in Boy Scouts and football and even competed in Foos Ball tournaments. Eventually, he moved back to Bryan to be closer to his mother, who had previously moved, and Grandmother. In Texas, Russell briefly was a volunteer fireman in Madisonville Tx. Russell worked for RedTail Equipment Rental for 15 years. Russell enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson Motorcycle with his wife Karen and all his friends, fishing and teaching his boys how to work on their cars, play baseball, basketball and football. Russell would have given anyone the shirt of his back if they needed it, Russell worked so his family had everything they needed to get through life.

Russell leaves sons, Casey, Justin, Matthew, Ryan and his wife Karen Ann of 38 years and children, Tara Day Phelps and Russell F Day. Papa will be greatly missed by 12 grandchildren, Chase, Cooper, Walker, Maci, Myles, Maverick, Carleigh, Caleigh, Aly, Tyler, Brittney and Bailey. Russell also leaves his little sister, Karen E Doty Horstman of Kansas City, Missouri and older brother, William H Doty, Jr. of Pangburn, Arkansas.

The family wishes in lieu of flowers to make donations in his name to the local Cancer Society.
