Sandra Lou Squyres Burleson, 71, of Dudley, Texas, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, January 22, 2023. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 26, 2023, at Dudley Cemetery with Pastor Ben Wilson officiating, assisted by Scottie Squyres and Jon Patrick under the direction of Bailey Howard Funeral Home of Clyde. A memorial service will follow at 10:45 a.m. located at Potosi Baptist Church.

Sandra was born August 9, 1951, in Ranger to Loren Squyres SR and Jo Ann (Warren) Steward. She attended school in Eula and received her associate degree in nursing from Cisco Junior College. She married James Burleson in Abilene on December 5, 1975. Sandra worked as an LVN for many years. She was also an avid quilter and a member of the Potosi Quilters Association. She was a member and Financial Treasurer of the Potosi Baptist Church and a member of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas.

She is survived by her husband of 47 years, James (Peanut) Burleson of Dudley; son, Joey Cummings and wife Kelly of Eula; two sisters, Janice Reglin of Sterling, Illinois and Lana Sanders and husband David of Tuscola; eight grandchildren, Tanner Cummings and wife Keysha of Amarillo, Blake Cummings and Alexas Witt of Lodi, California, Rylee Cummings and fiancé Sonny Bohannon of Lubbock, Carter Cummings of Amarillo, Kelcey Edwards and husband Cody of Vega, Macey Brorman of Amarillo, Katelynn Wall and husband Cameron of Vega and Molly Apolonio and husband Christian of Vega; six great grandchildren, Hallen and Hagen Edwards, Swayze and EmberLee Wall, Ava Allred and Nevaeh Cummings; sisters-in-law, Ru Jones of Eula and Ann Harris of Austin, and her beloved dog, Penny.

Sandra was preceded in death by her parents, her stepfather, EJ Steward, and her brother, Loren Squyres Jr.
