Sherilyn "Memaw" Areatta Clayton, 64, of Baird died Tuesday, June 7, 2022, in an Abilene hospital. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 11, 2022, at the American Legion in Baird.

Sherilyn was born May 7, 1958, in Sweetwater to Willis Leonard and Claudia Pearl (McDowell) Clayton. She graduated from Baird High School. She worked as a CNA for 27 years in several nursing homes across West Texas. Sherilyn moved to Baird from Abilene in 2012 and was a member of the Baptist Church.

She is survived by two sons, Joseph Williams and wife Sandra of Granbury and David Williams and wife Cristie of Cotulla; daughter, Georgiana Williams of Baird; brother, Paul David Clayton and wife Barbara of Clyde; sister, Ramona Hurst and husband Donald of Clyde; thirteen grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Sherilyn was preceded in death by three brothers, Eddie, Jerry and Glenn Clayton and two sisters, LaDonna Clayton and Lynn Harris.
