Sherry Dawn Garcia, 57, of Abilene died Sunday, June 11, 2023, in a Brownsville hospital. A memorial service is pending.

Sherry was born October 2, 1965, in Abilene to Jerry and Betty (Schooler) Jeffries. She attended Abilene High School. She worked for Dolly Madison in Abilene for 11 years and also as a cook for Redford Hills Nursing Home and the Clyde Nursing Home. She married Francisco Garcia in Baird on October 26, 2007. She was a very talented artist and a hard worker and will be missed by many.

She is survived by her husband of 15 years, Francisco Garcia of Abilene; her daughter, Yavonne Young of Corpus Christi; two sisters, Lauria Troutz and husband Charlie of Odessa and Kelly Palmour and husband Joe of Buffalo Gap and three grandchildren, Justin, Wyatt and Emily.

Sherry was preceded in death by her parents, Jerry and Betty and two brothers, Michael and Roger Jeffries.
