Steeves Edwin Merrill , 84, died at his home in Abilene on Friday, August 8, 2025.  Memorial Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at the Bailey-Howard Funeral Home Chapel in Clyde with Pastor David Acevedo officiating.

Steeves was born April 24, 1941, in Lebanon, New Hampshire, to Donald and Regis (Benjimine) Merrill and attended school in Vermont.  He moved to Abilene from San Angelo in 1974.  Steeves married Sandra Jordan in Coleman in 1976.  He was a contract chiller installer for hospitals.

Steeves is survived by his wife of 49 years, Sandra Merrill of Abilene; his son, Jay Merrill and wife Christy of Grape Creek; his daughter, Lisa Davis and husband Jeff of San Angelo; his sister, Judy Burney and husband Donald of San Angelo; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Steeves was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; and one sister.
