Tanya Kay Sheppard, 69, of Tye, passed peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, June 4, 2019, at her home. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 10, 2019, at the Bailey Howard Funeral Home Chapel in Clyde. Visitation with the family will be Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the service begins at 11:00 a.m.

Tanya was born December 25, 1949, at Mitchel Air Force Base in New York to Bud and LaNelle Sheppard. She was a graduate of Cooper High School and Hardin Simmons University, earning a degree in Social Work. Tanya worked as a social worker, nurse's assistant and was a school teacher in the Ft. Worth area, including Crowley, Ft. Worth and Lake Worth. She moved back to Abilene from Ft. Worth in 2005.

Tanya is survived by her daughter, Lauren Bartolick; grandson, Lukas Bartolick; her adopted family, Bruce and Diana Matthews and their three girls, Harley, Alexis and Cheyenne; and her former spouse, Thomas Bartolick.

Tanya was preceded in death by her parents.
