Tina Marie Powers, 59, of Eula died Saturday, April 14, 2018 at Hendrick Hospice Care. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 21, 2018 at Southern Hills Church of Christ in Abilene with Steve Ridgell officiating.
Tina was born March 20, 1959 in Abilene to Marshall and Geraldine (Boydston) Bromley. She was a graduate of Abilene High School. She then received her Bachelors Degree from ACU, her Masters Degree from UTA and her PHD from Grand Canyon University. She married Jack Powers in Abilene on December 6, 1980 and was a lifetime Abilene area resident. She was a program designer, writing on-line educational courses for many colleges and universities and was a member of the Southern Hills Church of Christ.
She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Jack Powers of Clyde; three sons, Drew Powers and wife Krissy of Birmingham, Alabama, Quinn Powers and wife Anne Marie of Tomball and Victor Powers and wife Summer of Abilene; one daughter Julie Powers Young and husband Jimmy of Abilene; four grandsons, Grayson, Kolsen, Andrew and Wren; two granddaughters, Lauren and Summer; one great granddaughter Swayzi; two brothers, Clyde Aly of Odessa and Darryl Bromley of Dallas; one sister Laura Deines and husband Tim of Cypress; four nephews, Trevor, Cade, Braden and Michael and many special friends.
Tina was preceded in death by her parents and one nephew.
Tina's life was always surrounded by many special friends who loved her dearly. Tina always had a special love of teaching, her extended family, the lake, baseball, Dallas Cowboys and her own special holiday "West Texas Holiday", which she had hosted for many years. Her most enduring love was in Jesus Christ. She was not afraid of dying and will be waiting with open arms for us all.
A special thank you for all the doctors and nurses who treated Tina at Hendrick Cancer Center and Hendrick Hospice.
In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to Hendrick Hospice Center.
