Richard Travis (Travis) Bennett, 41, of Abilene died Friday, September 4, 2020 at Hendrick Hospice Care in Abilene. A private family memorial service will be held at Bailey Howard Funeral Home of Clyde with his uncles Bobby Sheppard and Mike Bennett officiating.

Travis was born April 30, 1979 in Abilene to Mark and Nancy (Sheppard) Bennett. He graduated from Hawley High School. He worked in construction with his dad for many years and also for Danny Knight Painting. Travis was an avid hunter, fisherman and loved to go bowling. He had a big heart and loved his family and animals.

He is survived by his mother Nancy Bennett of Fort Phantom; brother Aaron Bennett of Fort Phantom; uncles and aunts, Wes and Terrie Bennett of Abilene, Mike and Jeannie Bennett of Lubbock, Roxanne Hello of Abilene, Bobby and Becky Sheppard of Fort Phantom, Gary and Barbara Hagler of Fort Phantom, Thomas Rock of Eula and Mary Sheppard of Abilene and numerous cousins, other relatives and friends.

Travis was preceded in death by his father Mark Bennett, grandparents, Duane and Lynda Bennett and Bill and Bonnie Sheppard and uncle John Hello.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donation to Rescue the Animals or to the charity of your choice.
