Jane Young, 83, of Clyde, went to be with her Lord Jesus Christ on Sunday, June 7, 2020. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 11, 2020, at the First Baptist Church in Clyde with Dr. Toby Henson officiating. Graveside services will be at 1:00 p.m. at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Abilene. Visitation is 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Bailey-Howard Funeral Home in Clyde.
Jane was born November 26, 1936, in Altus, Oklahoma, to William James and Alpha (Swaffer) Wright. She graduated from Altus High School. Jane married Doyle B. Young on July 1, 1967, in Altus, and she and Doyle moved to Clyde.
Jane was employed by Grigsby's Ragdoll for 26 years then she and Doyle owned their own shoe store the last six years. In retirement, Jane became an avid quilter and fell in love with serving at First Baptist Church. Jane asked that any gifts or remembrances' be made to First Baptist Church-Clyde.
Jane is survived by two sons, Jerry Young and wife Jerry of Abilene and Kelly Young and wife Venessa of Clyde; two daughters, Lajuana Spurgeon of Houston and Paula Robinson and husband Jeff of Weatherford; 13 grandchildren, Jerod Yates and wife Amy, Jerimy Robinson and wife Leslie, Colby Robinson, Blake Robinson and wife Aimee, Megan Young, Jessika Henson and husband Ryan, Justin Riley and wife Emily, Taylor Young, Jimmy Dale Knight, Andrea Knight, Misty Young, Vesti Wyatt and husband Brandon and Vasha Aguirre and husband Erick; and 19 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Doyle Young who died in 2013; son, James Young died in 1971, son, Larry Young who died in 2016; her grandson, Jerry Young, Jr; three brothers; and four sisters.
