Wanda Williamson Black was born November 17, 1934, to Bill and Eunice (King) Williamson in San Angelo, Texas. She passed away Saturday, January 27, 2024. She grew up in Denver City, Texas and graduated from Denver City High School in 1953. She married the love of her life, Derrel Lee Black, January 14, 1956, in Denver City. She had a passion for serving and immensely enjoyed her career as an aide at Reagan County Elementary in Big Lake for 10 years. Wanda served the Lord faithfully in each town she called home, Denver City, Oil Center, New Mexico, Midkiff, Clyde, Big Lake and San Angelo.
Wanda was preceded in death by her husband, Derrel; her parents, Bill and Eunice and her brother, Thurman Williamson.
She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Plagens; her son, Travis Black and wife Shelene and four grandchildren, Shalea Plagens, Lynn Follis, Caleb Usry and Bailey Garrido.
Visitation will be from 12:30 until 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, January 30, 2024, at Bailey Howard Funeral Home in Clyde. A private graveside will follow.
Donations may be made to High Plains Senior Care Hospice in Amarillo, Texas, 1600 Coulter Street South, Bldg. F Amarillo, Texas 79106 in Wanda's memory.
The family wishes to thank her caregivers, Britni, Paige and Stephanie at High Plains Senior Care for their excellent care.
