Wanda Lee (Bales) Chittum, 78, of Baird died Friday, May 12, 2023, in an Abilene hospice center. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 16, 2023, at Bailey Howard Funeral Home Chapel with David Peterson officiating. Burial will follow in Belle Plaine Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Wanda was born August 15. 1944, in Clyde to Murl and Etta Mae (Latimer) Bales. She graduated from Clyde High School and married John Thomas Chittum on Clyde in June 30, 1963. Wanda was a member of the Clyde Church of Christ and Belle Plain Cemetery Association. She was very crafty and loved to crochet and made many gifts for her family and friends. She also loved raising cattle and feeding the deer and wildlife around her home.

She is survived by two sons, James Chittum of Baird and Justin Chittum and wife Karma of Abilene; grandchildren, Amber Hardin and husband Cody of Granbury and T.J. Chittum of Baird and one great grandson, Johnny Lee Hardin.

Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, Murl and Etta; her husband, John; her son, Johnny Chittum; brother, Charles Bales and sister, Noma Bales.
