Obituary

Wanda "Susie" Lynn Hawley, 85, of Moran passed away Saturday, April 13, 2024, in a Cisco nursing home. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 27, 2024, at Albany Church of Christ with Sonny McCauley officiating under the direction of Bailey Howard Funeral Home of Clyde.

Susie was born October 3, 1938, in Albany to Barney Edward and Mozella (Brush) Hegwood. She attended school in Albany. She married Cecil O. Hawley in Rochester in 1954. She worked at the City Grocery Meat Market for many years and enjoyed being a homemaker, raising a garden and lots of flowers and living in the country where she helped her husband take care of the cows. She loved her grandkids and great grandkids very dearly. She was a member of the Albany Church of Christ.

She is survived by two sons, Cecil L. "Rusty" Hawley and wife Teresa of Albany and Charles Hawley of Moran; three grandchildren, Tasha Hamilton of Breckenridge, Keira Hawley Jones of Albany and Brandon Hawley of Hubbard Lake; three sisters, Carolyn Davis and husband Bill of Alice, Letha Lee and husband Dewayne of Rotan and Earlene Meyer of South Carolina; great grandchildren, Aaron and Garrett Hamilton, Addison Hawley, Ryan Lilly Hawley and Tara Maples; special sister-in-law and friend, Cleoda Rhoudes of Moran, a special "grandson", Sean Lee of Rotan and numerous well loved nieces and nephews.

Susie was preceded in death by her grandparents, Lois and Pender Brush; her husband, Cecil O. Hawley; parents, Barney Hegwood and Mozella Brush Cooper; one great grandson, Blake Hamilton and two brothers, William and Charles Hegwood.
