Obituary

Wanda Laverne Medley, 91, of Clyde passed away Tuesday, June 11, 2024, in an Abilene hospital. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 15, 2024, at Clyde Cemetery with Rev. Jess Demerest officiating under the direction of Bailey Howard Funeral Home of Clyde.

Wanda was born February 6, 1933, in Loraine to the late Hubert and Bertie (Harless) May. She graduated from Clyde High School and later from Odessa Junior College. She married Billy Murrel Medley in Clyde on August 6, 1950. They moved to Clyde from Monahans in 1988. She was a teacher at Monahans ISD for ten years and later worked for the Texas Employment Commission for over twenty years. Wanda was a member of Clyde First Baptist Church.

She is survived by three sons, Larry Murrel Medley and wife, Katheryn of Spring, Steven Medley and wife, Patsy of San Angelo and Gary Medley of Bixby, Oklahoma; one brother, Douglas May and wife Johanna of Clyde; one sister, Sue Glover of Fort Worth; seven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
